COMBINATION OF DIRECT ONLINE AND
JOGGING CIRCUIT
In some industrial applications we need
to use both direct online and jogging circuit. It won’t be economical to use
the other circuit and then when we need to use another we disconnect the former
circuit to connect another, this can be time consuming especially in a busy
industry.
Now that’s when the need for combination of both the jogging and
direct online circuits arrives.

OPERATION
Combination
of direct online and jogging can be made by using a double acting push button
S3. The normally closed section of the JOG push button is connected in SERIES
with the holding contact of KM1 in such a way that when the button is pushed it
will deactivate the holding contact from receiving power and prevent it from
sealing the circuit. The normally open section of the double acting button
completes a circuit to energize the coil of the motor starter. When the button
is released, the normally open section breaks the circuits to M coil before the
normally closed section get back to its position in the circuit. The double
acting switch act as a jogging switch when ever jogging is required, whenever
we need the motor to run by itself we press S2 then the motor will run on the
direct online mode.
